Covid-19 deaths per million population in India amongst the lowest in world: Health Ministry

India has leaped across a significant milestone in its fight against COVID. The number of new daily cases have been below the 50 thousand mark for 24 consecutive days. The Health Ministry said, new cases are continuously declining and only 31 thousand new cases were reported across the country.

The Ministry has said that the deaths in India due to COVID-19 per million population is also amongst the lowest in the World. It stands at 100 deaths per million population while global average is 186. Addressing media in New Delhi, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that India’s COIVD-19 cases per million population is also amongst the lowest in the world.

Bhushan said daily recoveries remained more than the average daily reported cases. He said, over 10 lakh average daily tests conducted and so far over 14 crore test have been done.
