The COVID-19 vaccination coverage to health care and frontline workers has crossed 88.5 lakh doses yesterday. In all, 88 lakh 57 thousand 341 vaccine doses were administered through one lakh 90 thousand 665 sessions till 6 p.m. yesterday. This includes 61 lakh 29 thousand 745 health care workers who have taken the first dose and two lakh 16 thousand 339 health care workers who have taken the second dose, along with 25 lakh 11 thousand 257 frontline workers.
Country’s COVID-19 recovery rate improved to 97.32 per cent with the recovery of more than 11 thousand eight hundred people in the last 24 hours.The Union Government has said that the cumulative positivity rate of COVID-19 infection in the country is 5.27 per cent and declining. Briefing media in New Delhi, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said, the active cases in the country are less than 1.40 lakh. He said, 56 new cases per million population reported in the last seven days in India. The Health Secretary said, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Tripura, Gujarat and Goa have administered the second dose to more than 60 per cent of the eligible health care workers.
Member (Health) in NITI Aayog Dr V. K. Paul said, 24 countries have been sent COVID-19 vaccine from India so far.
