India’s Share In Global Media Entertainment Needs To Be Grown By 2029. I &B Secy.

The Information and Broadcasting Secretary, Sanjay Jaju expressed confidence that time is ripe for India to become a global hub in creative content creation. He was addressing a group of representatives from gaming animation and entertainment Industry in Bengaluru today.

He said that India’s share in the global media entertainment sector is just two percent which has the potential to grow exponentially. He said the aim is to help the sector grow from the present 25 billion market to 100 billion market by 2029.

He offered every support to the Industry and called upon them to make India a global content hub and net exporter of contents. 

He pointed out that Prime Minister’s call to the gamers and animators in Mann ki baat and creation of the National Centre of Excellence in Mumbai and setting up of Skilling centres in this area will boost this sector, create new job opportunities and bring in investments in India.
