Telangana Govt Announced Addition Of 163 Medical Procedures To State’s Ravij Aarogyasree Health Scheme.

Telangana Government has announced an addition of 163 medical procedures to the state’s Ravij Aarogyasree Health Scheme. State Health Minister, C. Damodar Rajanarsimha announced this along with a 20 per cent hike in packages provided to hospitals to implement the scheme. 

The increased number of procedures – and the extension of the limit will together cost the exchequer 487 crore rupees. An official release stated that the government has decided to increase the budget by 54 per cent for the same.

In the new 163 medical procedures, 98 will be provided via the Ayushman Bharat scheme (AB-PMJAY) and 65 by the state government’s Aarogyasri. 

The enhancement was made following a recommendation by a committee which studied the existing Aarogyasri package rates.

The committee after consultation with specialists from the medical and surgical departments of Gandhi, Osmania, NIMS, and private hospitals made the recommendation for the inclusion of 163 new procedures under the Aarogyasri health scheme.

In addition, the government had directed the committee to adopt the Standard Schedule of Rates (SSR) and Final Therapy Rate (FTR) for revising the existing package rates of patients in the empanelled hospitals which fall under the umbrella of the health scheme.
