Heavy rains cause widespread damage to property and crops in Rajasthan.

Life has been badly affected in Rajasthan due to heavy to very heavy rains occurring in many districts in the last three days.  

Extremely heavy rain was recorded in Dausa while very heavy rain occurred in Alwar, Jaipur,  Sawai Madhopur, Sikar and Tonk districts.

Heavy rain has been recorded at some places in Udaipur, Sirohi, Rajsamand, Pratapgarh, Bharatpur, Nagaur, Ajmer districts in the last 24 hours.

Akashvani correspondent reports, Low-lying areas are submerged due to very heavy rains in Sawai Madhopur, Bundi, Kota and Tonk districts. Hundreds of villages have lost contact with the district headquarters.

Electricity and water supply has been disrupted in many villages. Road and rail traffic has also been affected at some places. There has been heavy damage to crops. NDRF, SDRF along with the Army has been deployed for relief and rescue work.

The Met Department has issued an alert of heavy to very heavy rains in Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions, Shekhawati region as well as some parts of Bikaner and Ajmer divisions today.
