The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has rejected allegations that the Madhya Pradesh Council for Employment and Training, or MAPCET, had made payments worth crores of rupees for job placements without verifying the placement data.
The Ministry termed these allegations entirely incorrect and baseless. Issuing a Factual Report today with regard to the claim, the Ministry said, MAPCET issued a request for proposal for the training of beneficiaries from below-poverty-line families belonging to Scheduled Caste category for 2021-22.
Following the selection process, contracts were signed with 34 training providers. Of these, six organisations did not commence the work.
The Ministry said the first instalment is paid when a training batch commences, following physical verification of the trainees. The second instalment is paid after the training has been completed and the trainees have been assessed.
The Factual Report stated that the third instalment, which is conditional upon placement, has not been paid to any of the institutions.
It added that the institutions have received only the first and second instalments and therefore, placement or placement tracking is not relevant to the payments already made.
