A low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm by 26th of this month and move towards the South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh coast.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in Odisha, with a possible approach towards the coast around 28th of this month.
The state government has alerted the administration, while fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea as weather conditions are expected to deteriorate.
The IMD is closely monitoring the system and will issue further updates on its movement and intensity
