Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla reviews progress of India-Myanmar border fencing.

Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla reviews the progress of the ongoing Indo-Myanmar border fencing works during a meeting held today at Lok Bhavan in Imphal.

The Chief Secretary, Security Advisor, Director General of Police, Additional Chief Secretary, Commissioner (Home), officers of the Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) and Assam Rifles, Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul attended the meeting.

Manipur shares a 398-km international border with Myanmar, much of which remains porous, officials said.

Detailed presentations were made on the progress of the fencing work, according to an official release.

On September 24, four Tangkhul Naga civilians were allegedly shot dead near Pilong village in the district, officials had said. Several Naga organisations have alleged that Kuki militants from Myanmar were involved.
