Security arrangements have been strengthened across Delhi-NCR ahead of Dussehra celebrations, with more than 13,000 police personnel set to be deployed to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
Authorities have stepped up vigilance at religious sites, crowded areas and event venues.
In Gurugram, around 2,200 police personnel have been deployed at 66 Ravan Dahan venues, 17 religious processions and other related events, while 1,200 police personnel have been deployed in Faridabad to maintain law and order.
Traffic police have also drawn up plans to ensure smooth traffic movement and effective crowd management.
Delhi Police said personnel would be deployed round the clock at sensitive locations, while senior officers would inspect deployment sites to review security arrangements and ensure adequate manpower.
Special attention will be given to crowded areas, prominent temples, pandals and venues hosting Dussehra celebrations, as authorities expect a significant turnout during the festive season.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Central District Angad Mehta said the district witnesses a substantial increase in footfall during festivals, necessitating extensive security arrangements.
In Gurugram, additional police personnel have been deployed at major venues, taking into account the expected crowd size. Police have identified 12 major and 54 smaller Ravan Dahan venues across the district. Of these, 16 sites fall under the East Zone, 23 under the West Zone, seven under the South Zone and 20 under the Manesar Zone.
Special security arrangements have also been made for religious processions scheduled to take place across the district. Police personnel have been deployed for three processions in the East Zone, nine in the West Zone, two in the South Zone and three in the Manesar Zone.
In Faridabad, special surveillance will be maintained at event venues, markets, major thoroughfares and other crowded areas to prevent untoward incidents and ensure the peaceful celebration of Dussehra.
