The portals of Shri Hemkund Sahib, the renowned Sikh pilgrimage site in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, were closed for the winter today.
The final Ardas, or prayer, was performed at 12:30 PM, following which the portals were closed at 1 PM in accordance with religious traditions.
The portals of Shri Hemkund Sahib were opened to pilgrims on May 23 this year.
During the pilgrimage season, around two lakh eighty thousand devotees paid obeisance at the sacred shrine.
