Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appreciated Olympian Rajinder Singh from Punjab, who is pursuing his passion through the Round Glass Hockey Academy.
During his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ today, the Prime Minister said, what he announced from the Red Fort this Independence Day regarding the sports talent hunt campaign by reaching out to villages and towns, Rajinder Singh is pursuing the same in Punjab.
The Olympian has thanked the Prime Minister for his inspirational words. He said the PM’s words would not only inspire him to work with more vigour but also other coaches to work in this direction.
Addressing the nation in the 138th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday, PM Modi recalled his announcement from the Red Fort of a talent hunt campaign for sports and stressed the need to reach villages and towns to identify promising athletes.
“To ensure India continues to perform excellently, it is essential to reach out to villages and towns to discover sporting talent,” the Prime Minister said.
