Delhi Police has carried out a district-wide special drive against illegal and overstaying foreign nationals residing in the jurisdiction of Dwarka District.
The objective of the drive is to identify illegal and overstaying foreign nationals, verify their immigration status, trace persons involved in criminal activities, and initiate appropriate legal action in coordination with the concerned authorities.
In this regard, a total of 25 teams comprising 150 police personnels deployed at a total of 43 locations and hideouts. During the drive, 40 foreign nationals were detained and verified, including 30 males and 10 females.
Of the total verified foreign nationals, 31 were Nigerian, 4 were Ugandan, 3 were Tanzanian and 2 were Ivorian nationals. As part of the drive, 10 foreign nationals have been taken up for deportation proceedings.
