In Ladakh, Indian Army organised the ‘Adab Aur Saqafat – Literary Festival 2026’ in Kargil to celebrate the rich literary heritage, cultural traditions and artistic spirit of Ladakh under the theme “Celebrating the Culture of Ladakh Highland” at GDC Kargil.
The festival witnessed participation from Army officers, college faculty members, students, poets, writers and literature enthusiasts from different parts of Kargil.
The event provided a platform for local poets and literary personalities to present their creative works and highlight the region’s rich cultural and literary traditions.
Brigadier Anil Joshi of 121 Brigade graced the occasion as Cheif Guest, while Retired IAS Officer Kacho Asfindayar Khan attended as the Guest of Honour.
Poets and writers from different areas of Kargil presented literary papers and creative works, highlighting Ladakh’s language, traditions, folklore and cultural identity.
Students and young participants also interacted with distinguished personalities and discussed the importance of preserving the region’s heritage.
