Haryana Police arrest 21 in inter-state infant trafficking case.

Haryana Police has unearthed an interstate child trafficking network of Punjab-based family members and their associates by arresting its kingpin, Pargat Singh, from Muktsar in Punjab.

The network has sold 50 infants across India as per the information gathered by police so far. Bahadurgarh DCP Mayank Mishra, who led the operation told Akashvani News that the key accused has been arrested after a four-month long chase.

Mr. Mishra said that 21 persons have been arrested so far who were involved in the network including 5 parents who have adopted the kids illegally.

The network was involved in the procurement and sale of infants and has links spanning over 10 states, from Punjab to Maharashtra including Gujarat and Siliguri. DCP said that further investigations are on and police are also trying to find out the biological parents of the infants.
