ED conducts searches in Kolkata over alleged financial irregularities.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at five locations in and around Kolkata in connection with a case involving alleged irregular financial transactions and the routing of suspected funds through bank accounts linked to the Trinamool Congress.

According to the ED, its preliminary investigation has revealed that funds exceeding 150 crore rupees were allegedly routed through aviation and travel companies for suspected irregular purposes.

The searches were carried out at the premises of Carewell Aviation, its directors, and a purported electoral trust.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) Tuesday launched coordinated raids at five locations across Kolkata to investigate the source of massive financial transactions involving the Trinamool Congress’s (TMC) bank accounts and the funding of party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee’s chartered flight rentals.

Separate ED teams began search operations early in the morning in Central Avenue, Rajarhat-New Town, and adjacent areas.
