Massive fire breaks out at coaching centre in Lucknow’s Aliganj area.

A massive fire broke out at a coaching centre operating above a shop in Lucknow’s Aliganj area, triggering panic among students. Some people got injured and have been admitted to the hospital.

The number of casualties is not confirmed yet. Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Brijesh Pathak reached the spot and monitoring the rescue and relief work being conducted by local administration, police and SDRF teams.

The blaze reportedly erupted inside the institute building and spread rapidly, trapping people inside. It was a shopping complex with coaching, game zone and showrooms in it.

Fire brigade teams, police personnel and district administration officials rushed to the spot and launched rescue and evacuation efforts. Some students saved themselves by hiding in the washroom of the coaching. The rescue team approached them and saved them. Some people saved their lives by jumping from the first floor. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of lives in a fire mishap in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. In a social media post, he announced an ex-gratia of two lakh rupees from Prime Minister National Relief Fund to the next of kin of each deceased.

The injured would be given 50 thousand rupees. Mr Modi conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families.

The Prime Minister also prayed for the recovery of the injured. He said that rescue operations are underway and authorities are providing all possible assistance.
