India’s LNG tanker ‘Disha’ has successfully arrived at Dahej Port in Gujarat after crossing the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. It is carrying 62,370 metric tonnes of liquefied natural gas from Qatar’s Ras Laffan terminal.
Operated by a consortium led by the Shipping Corporation of India and chartered by Petronet LNG, the vessel reached the Dahej LNG terminal this morning.
The cargo is expected to strengthen LNG availability and support stable energy supplies across the country amid geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
Located in Gujarat’s Bharuch district, Dahej is India’s largest LNG import terminal and a key hub in the nation’s natural gas distribution network.
