Novak Djokovic beat Rafael Nadal to reach Men’s Singles final. Novak Djkovic stuns Nadal 3-6, 6-3, 7-6, 6-2 to enter his sixth French Open final. He will now face Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final tomorrow.
A masterclass from the Serb as he becomes the only player to beat Nadal in French Open twice. It is also only the third time the Spaniard has been beaten at the clay court Grand Slam since making his debut in 2005.
He also becomes the first player in history to defeat Nadal in a Paris semi-final, besting the Spaniard 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-2 to reach the title match. It will be the 29th career Grand Slam final for Djokovic, and the first for Tsitsipas. Earlier, Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas yesterday managed to progress to the men’s finals.
Tsitsipas defeated sixth seed Alexander Zverev in a five-set thriller 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 4-6, 6-3 here at Court Philippe-Chatrier. The victory ended Tsitsipas’ three-match losing streak in Grand Slam semi-finals. Tsitsipas became the youngest man to reach a Grand Slam final since Andy Murray at the 2010 Australian Open.
