J&K Weather Alert: Light to Moderate Rain, Flash Floods, Landslides. Jammu-Srinagar Highway Closed.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain with thundershowers at many places today. 

Authorities have warned of possible flash floods, landslides, and shooting stones in vulnerable areas. Residents have been advised to stay away from water bodies and unstable structures.

The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remains closed for the fourth straight day due to landslides, with around three thousand vehicles stranded. However, the Mughal Road has reopened after a two-day closure.

A Central team from the Ministry of Home Affairs is in Jammu to assess damage caused by heavy rains and floods.

Train services between Jammu and Katra have been suspended due to waterlogging, and the pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine remains halted for the eleventh day. All schools in the Jammu region are closed today due to adverse weather.
