Arunachal Pradesh Mountaineer Kabak Yano has successfully summitted Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak of Africa on Monday. Yano is on a seven-summit mountaineering expedition, a mission to scale the highest peaks on all seven continents.
Towering at 5,895 meters above sea level, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania is the tallest peak on the African continent. It is also the highest free-standing mountain in the world.
Arunachal Pradesh Governor KT Parnaik, who had flagged off Ms. Yano’s expedition on July 28 last month, has expressed immense pride in her achievement.
He said that Ms. Yano, an accomplished Everest climber, has once again demonstrated the indomitable spirit, courage, and perseverance that define the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
