In Punjab, keeping in view the prevailing heat wave conditions, the state government has decided to declare summer holidays from June 2nd, 2025. Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has announced that all government, government-aided, recognised, and private schools will remain closed from June 2nd to June 30th.
The decision comes as temperatures in several districts, including Bathinda, Patiala, and Amritsar, have soared past 44C, prompting health concerns for school-going children. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alerts for parts of Punjab, warning of continued heatwave conditions over the next week.
