Punjab Police cancels all leaves, health department on 24×7 alert for emergencies.

The Punjab Police have cancelled all leaves for officers and personnel with immediate effect, citing administrative reasons. Police sources stated that leave will only be granted in extraordinary circumstances.

Similarly, personnel from the state health department have been put on alert. They have been instructed to remain available around the clock to handle any medical emergencies.

“Punjab shares a 532-km border with Pakistan. Therefore, the role of the Punjab government becomes extremely crucial during any military tension. All districts near the border have been placed on high alert. The government has also cancelled all public events in view of the prevailing situation,” Punjab minister Aman Arora said.

Also, the leaves of all Medical officers in charge and staff posted at AAMs and UAAMs are cancelled with immediate effect until further orders. The Mission Health director, National Health Mission, Chandigarh UT said, “Be prepared for emergency duty 24/7. If called for duty anywhere and at any time, they should immediately report for duty. They should be available 24/7 and answer the calls promptly; otherwise, strict disciplinary action will be initiated.”
