BJP begins 3-day ‘Gaon Chalo, Basti Chalo’ campaign in Telangana slums & villages.

In Telangana, BJP will be taking up a three-day people contact campaign in slums and villages as part of its Foundation Day celebrations starting today. The ‘Gaon Chalo, Basti Chalo’ campaign aims at propagating the party’s programmes among people.

Party state General Secretary K. Venkateshwarlu informed that the programme with the participation of top leaders will involve meeting at least 10 beneficiaries of the Central Welfare schemes in each area, take up Swacchata programme at any health centre or temple and hold booth committee meetings. The leaders will also be holding local meetings to understand the issues faced by citizens and prepare the ground for launching protests against the alleged anti-people policies of the Congress Government.

Party president and Union Minister of Coal & Mines G. Kishan Reddy, Rajya Sabha member K. Laxman, MLAs, MPs and others will take part in the programme. The leaders will also be holding local meetings to understand the issues faced by citizens and prepare the ground for launching protests against the Congress Government’s ‘anti-people’ policies, he said.

In a separate press conference, deputy floor leader Payal Shankar accused the Congress Government of not taking action against the various acts of omission and commission during the previous BRS rule including the various land scams, phone-tapping, irrigation projects, Nayeem case and so on.

“Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had vowed to take criminal action against the wrongs done by the KCR regime when he was in the Opposition but nothing has happened despite he being in power for more than 15 months. Is this not collusion politics between both parties?” he questioned.
