Union Minister of Industries Piyush Goyal urged startups to prioritise the needs of society and the country while adopting new ideas and innovation.
Addressing the second edition of the Vejalpur Startup Festival in Ahmedabad today, the minister underlined the pivotal role of startups in achieving the vision of a developed India. Mr Goyal highlighted a series of initiatives taken by the Modi government, such as the ‘fund of funds’, to support start-ups in the country.
Praising the initiative of the Vejalpur Startup Festival, the minister said such programmes set an example for the nation and need to be replicated across the country to foster a thriving startup ecosystem in the country.
Lauding the entrepreneurial spirit and expanding the startup network in Gujarat, the minister emphasised the contribution of startups in offering employment to youths and finding innovative solutions to societal problems. The minister also urged the investors and mentors to invest in start-ups in order to strengthen the start-up ecosystem in the country.
The event which was organised by Vejalpur MLA Amit Thakar witnessed participation from over 1,000 startups.
