The Centre is committed for the development of Bodoland area under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah at Kokrajhar on Sunday. Addressing at the 57th Annual Conference of All Bodo Students Union as the Chief Guest at Dotma in Kokrajhar district this afternoon, the Union Minister said that the Centre is committed to fulfill all the clauses of the Bodo Accord. He informed that 82% clauses of the Accord has already been fulfilled. The Home Minister said the remaining clauses of the Accord will be fulfilled within two years.

Mr. Shah said that peace now prevails in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Earlier this region was known for violence but now the youths of this area prefers development than disturbances. Youths of this area returned to the mainstream of the society under the leadership of the Prime Minister.

The Union Minister announced that a road in Delhi will be named after Upendra Nath Brahma very soon apart from a busts of him in Delhi. U.N. Brahma was social activist and former president of All Bodo Students Union.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma speaking on the occasion said that peace now prevails in the BTR area and announced several educational infrastructure for the area.

Later today, the Union Home Minister will review the Implementation of New Criminal Laws in the North-Eastern States in Guwahati with the Chief Ministers of eight North Eastern states before returning to New Delhi in the evening.
