Delhi court rejects parole plea of J&K MP Engineer Rashid to attend ongoing parliament session.

A Delhi court today rejected the custody parole plea of jailed Jammu and Kashmir MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid, known as Engineer Rashid, who sought permission to attend Parliament session.

Additional Sessions Judge Chander Jit Singh dismissed the plea and scheduled the order on Rashid’s regular bail plea for 19th of this month.

Rashid has been in Tihar Jail since 2019. He was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in a 2017 terror funding case.

The NIA’s investigation linked Rashid to businessman Zahoor Watali, who was arrested for allegedly funding terrorist groups.
