Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi visits French 3rd. division.

Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi visited the 3rd Division of the French Army at France’s Ganteaume Fort in Marseille.

General Dwivedi, who is on a four-day official visit to France, was also briefed on the role of the division and the future roadmap of joint training between India and France, including Exercise SHAKTI, which is scheduled to be held in France later this year. Exercise SHAKTI is an annual joint exercise held between the armies of the two nations. The exercise aims at promoting synergy in joint tactical operations and enhancing interoperability.

During his visit to the French Army’s 3rd Division at Fort Ganteaume, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi received an update on the division’s duty and the future plan for India-France joint training, which includes Exercise SHAKTI, which is scheduled to take place in France later this year.

According to an official release from the Ministry of Defence, the Army Chief will attend a dynamic exhibition of the Scorpion Division on Wednesday, which will include live fire drills.

Exercise SHAKTI is a yearly joint military practice undertaken by both nations’ militaries to improve interoperability and cooperation in tactical operations. “Exercise SHAKTI is an annual joint exercise held between the armies of the two nations aimed at promoting synergy in joint tactical operations and enhancing interoperability,” the Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI) wrote in their X post.
