Christmas celebrations illuminate Nagaland and Kerala.

As Christmas Day unfolds across the globe today, Nagaland is embracing the occasion with a blend of religious reverence and festive spirit.

Towns and villages alike are aglow with decorative lights, and homes are adorned with Christmas decorations as people commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. Both Governor La Ganesan and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have extended their Christmas greetings to the people, wishing all peace, joy, and hope.

Akashvani’s correspondent reports that describes Christmas celebrations being held in Nagaland. Many churches held midnight masses on Christmas Eve, accompanied by prayer sessions that set the tone for the joyous occasion. The sound of bells ringing and carols filling the air echoed the praise of Lord Jesus, as worshippers gathered in solemn reverence.

This morning, congregations of different denominations are gathering in churches for community worship and prayer across the state, dressed in their finest attire and singing hymns of praise. Delectable feasts are being prepared to regale the Naga spirit and partake in traditional community feasts. Exchange of greetings and gifts, and visits to friends and dear ones are marking the celebration, while some are expressing their goodwill by visiting the less privileged.

Kerala is in complete festive mode, as it joyously celebrates Christmas. Akashvani’s correspondent reports that the state has rich local customs associated with the festival.

All streets and houses are decked up with shiny stars and sparkling lights and Carol music in the air, as the State celebrates Christmas in its traditional grandeur. Special prayers and mass were held in churches on the eve of Christmas. Hundreds of believers participated in the Thirupiravi celebrations held in various churches across the State.

The Christmas celebration in Kerala exhibits the influence of Syrian and Western ways along with its own cultural elements that include local traditions and exotic delicacies. Kerala’s festive special, Theenmura, is a vibrant, multi-course Christmas feast that showcases the region’s rich culinary heritage. It is the day of togetherness as people of all communities come together and cakes and gifts are exchanged. Christmas celebration will continue right up to the coming of the New Year with special fairs and festivals in the State.It is a merry time for everyone alike, with the message of love and harmony echoing in every corner of the State.
