National Investigation Agency-NIA today conducted extensive searches at 22 locations across six states in the country as part of a crackdown on an international human trafficking syndicate.
This investigation has uncovered connections to cyber-scam centers located in Myanmar and Laos. They said the searches were being conducted in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi among other places.
Numerous Indian nationals have been exploited and coerced into participating in fraudulent activities, including crypto currency scams and call center fraud under the human trafficking syndicate.
The case, which was registered by police in Gopalganj in Bihar, relates to an organised syndicate luring and trafficking Indian youth to foreign countries on the pretext of jobs and forcing them to work in fake call centres engaged in cyber fraud.
