Russia today denied the reports claiming that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held telephonic conversation following the Republican candidate’s victory in last week’s presidential election.
Speaking at a daily media briefing in Moscow, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov dismissed the claims, stating that no such conversation took place. He said that the reports were entirely false, and described them as pure fiction.
Earlier, several media outlets reported that US President-elect Trump and Russian President Putin held a telephonic conversation recently. The report mentioned that Trump had urged Putin to avoid any escalation in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Kyiv has also made it clear that it had no prior intimation about the Trump-Putin phone call.
