Kerala. IMD issues orange alert for Pathanamthitta, Idukki. Heavy rainfall predicted.

The Met Department has issued an orange alert in Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts in Kerala today, indicating the possibility of very heavy rain. As per the weather bulletin issued this evening, a yellow alert denoting the possibility of heavy rainfall has been issued in nine districts of the state.

The weather office also issued an orange alert for the central districts of Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, and Thrissur for tomorrow.

October 24 (Thursday): Orange alerts are in place for Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts.

October 25 (Friday): Kottayam Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur.

Orange alerts are issued as IMD expects a very heavy rainfall in these districts with accumulations expected to range between 115.6 mm to 204 mm within 24 hours.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions during this period of expected rainfall.

October 24 (Thursday) : Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram

October 25 (Friday): Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Palakkad, Malappuram and Kozhikode

October 26 (Saturday) : Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur

October 27 (Sunday) : Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha.

Heavy rainfall is predicted in isolated areas in these districts with accumulations expected to range between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm within 24 hours.
