In Manipur, a joint team of Manipur Police and State Home Department raided five shops in Imphal, and confiscated a large number of fake ILP and Aadhaar Cards, seals with facsimile signature, seals of Government Offices, different electronic equipment.

It is alleged that these outlets were indulging in widespread preparation, circulation and sale of fake Inner Line Permit (ILP) passes.

Briefing the media persons this evening at Imphal, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that an SIT has been formed to investigate the case. Nine persons including an LDC in the State Labour Department have been arrested in connection with the case. In the preliminary investigation, it has been revealed that around three thousand five hundred ILP passes have been prepared through these outlets.

The Chief Minister said that the Inner Line Permit system was put in place in the State in 2020. He said that the State Government views the issues of ILP very seriously and zero tolerance will be adopted in the implementation of ILP in the State.
