J&K. Another Batch Of 5803 Pilgrims Leaves Base Camp To Perform Pilgrimage To Amarnath Cave Shrine.

JAMMU. Another batch of 5803 pilgrims left Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp in Jammu for the Kashmir valley to perform pilgrimage to Amarnath Cave Shrine. The pilgrims left the base camp in a cavalcade of 218 vehicles early this morning.

The batch included 4521 Men, 1139 Women, 9 Children, 124 Sadhus & 10 Sadhvies (female sadhus). Of these 1862 pilgrims left for Baltal at 3:10 AM and 3941 for Pahalgam base camp at 4 AM from where they will proceed for their further journey to the holy cave. 

The eight batch of pilgrims left the Bhagwati-Nagar Yatri Niwas in 277 vehicles for the twin base camps of Baltal and Palagam at 3.45 am and were escorted by CRPF security personnel, they said. While 4,377 pilgrims took the 48-km traditional Pahalga..

The number of pilgrims who have paid obeisance at the shrine till date stands at 1,33,000. The 52-days yatra formally began from June 29 and will conclude on August 19.  More than 4.5 lakh pilgrims paid obeisance at the cave shrine last year.
