Two persons died and several persons were feared trapped under the debris of a two-storey building that collapsed in Deoghar district of Jharkhand this morning. Seven people were so far rescued from the debris of the building that collapsed in Deoghar town around six in the morning.
Few more seem to be still trapped under the debris. Efforts are underway to retrieve the trapped persons. A team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been deployed for the rescue operation. The rescued persons have been admitted to Deoghar Sadar Hospital.
The incident, which occurred around 6 am, has led to a massive rescue operation as several individuals are still feared trapped under the debris.
Six persons were initially rescued and brought to Sadar Hospital. Of these, two were declared dead on arrival, while another woman later succumbed to her injuries.
“As many as six persons were retrieved from under the debris and brought to the Sadar Hospital here. Of them, two were brought dead. Another woman succumbed to the injuries. The treatment of the three others, including a child, is underway,” stated Deoghar Civil Surgeon Ranjan Sinha.
A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team is actively engaged in rescue efforts.
Deoghar Sub-divisional Police Officer Ritvik Srivastava confirmed the ongoing operations, saying, “A few more seem to be still trapped under the debris. The rescue operation is underway.
NDRF Inspector Randhir Kumar, leading the mission, assured that efforts are ongoing to save those still trapped, emphasizing the team’s dedication to retrieving the remaining individuals.
