With the final session of Maharashtra Legislature set to begin tomorrow, the opposition MVA today chose to skip the customary tea party. Addressing a joint press conference in Mumbai this afternoon, Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Vijay Wadettiwar said it is unjustified to share tea with a government that has been formed unconstitutionally.

Claiming that the current state government is anti-farmer, anti-student and anti-youth, the Congress leader said the government is trying to create rifts between communities by denying proper reservation to Maratha and Dhangar communities.

Mr. Wadettiwar said they would raise issues like compensation for drought affected and rain affected farmers and seek loan waiver besides electric bill waiver for them. Stating that the law and order situation has deteriorated in the past two years with drug mafia and criminal activities on the rise, the Congress leader said issues like unemployment, scarcity of water, delay in implementation of Marathwada Grid project and river linking projects will also be taken up. He added that the opposition will not allow the implementation of CAA and NRC in Maharashtra.

Also present on the occasion, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve expressed serious concern over the absence of state finance minister Ajit Pawar for the recently held GST Council meeting. Terming the government as irresponsible, Mr. Danve alleged that all the three parties are indulging in corruption, be it NEET exam or the construction of infrastructure projects like Coastal Road or the Atal Setu.
