IMD Forecasts Extremely Heavy Rainfall In Southern Regions For Next Three Days.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts extremely heavy rainfall for the next three days in the southern regions of the country, while heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue over south Peninsular India during the next 5 days. IMD said that isolated extremely heavy rainfall is also very likely over Tamil Nadu and Kerala till the 21st of this month. Southwest Monsoon is likely to advance into the South Andaman Sea, some parts of Southeast Bay of Bengal, and Nicobar Islands during the next 48 hours.

The weather agency also predicts that heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are likely to continue over the plains of Northwest India during next four days, and heat wave conditions are likely over East and Central India during next two days.

Heat wave conditions are very likely in some parts of East Uttar Pradesh during the next three days, West Uttar Pradesh from tomorrow to 22nd of this month, and in isolated pockets over Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh till 22nd of this month.
 

IMD said that a gradual rise by about 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures is very likely over many parts of Central India during the next 5 days. IMD said that heat wave conditions yesterday prevailed at most places over West Rajasthan, in some pockets over Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Punjab, East Rajasthan and isolated pockets over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Gujarat.
