NEW DELHI. PM Narendra Modi is likely to travel to Greece later this month for what will be the first visit by an Indian PM to the country since 1983. The visit by Modi on his way back from South Africa, where he will participate in the BRICS summit, is expected to further help cement India’s ties with the Mediterranean.
India and Greece are currently discussing the possibility of enhancement of the bilateral relationship to a Strategic Partnership.
Foreign minister S Jaishankar had visited Greece in 2021. The 2 countries have been working to further enhance collaboration in mutually beneficial sectors such as shipping and maritime, information technology, agriculture, renewable energy, and pharmaceuticals.
