4 terrorists eliminated in two separate encounters in Kashmir valley

Four terrorists have been gunned down by security forces in two separate encounters in Kashmir valley during 24 hours with three terrorists killed in the first encounter that broke out between terrorists and security forces at Zadibal area in Srinagar district on Sunday.

According to Police, a joint team of security forces launched a cordon and search operation based on a specific input about the presence of terrorists in the area.

As a joint team approached towards this suspected spot, hiding terroritst fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter and resulted in the elimination of three terrorists.

Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh said that one more terrorist connected with JeM was eliminated this morning in another operation at Likhdipora area of Kulgam district which concluded on Sunday. One AK-47, magazines and one pistol have been recovered.

As a precautionary measure, internet services in Srinagar district have been snapped.

As per the police press note, the JeM terrorist killed in the Likhdipora Kulgam encounter has been identified as a Pakistani national.

Meanwhile, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar termed the elimination of the terrorists at two different encounters, a great success for the security forces. He said that there are still 100 to 200 active terrorists in Kashmir while 106 terrorists have been killed in this year so far in different operations across Kashmir valley.
